[sharp-discuss] Why two logfiles directories?

Dear Huiying Li,

it is required for a setup where the SERVER (machine running the
httpd) submits SHARP/autoSHARP jobs to a whole range of other machines
(MASTERs), e.g. a Linux cluster for example or just all your
workstations in the lab. To minimise network/NFS traffic we give the
possibility to have result files going to a local disk on each
machine.

The sharpfiles/logfiles directory only contains links to
../logfiles.machinename. And each logfiles.machinename again is only a
link to the 'real' location of the result files.

If you only have a single machine just give something like

  /where/ever/sharpfiles/logfiles_local

BTW: there is a clear (?) message/warning about this when running
useSHARP. And a bit of information can also be found in the
installation manual.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Clemens
