[sharp-discuss] Some notes about CCP4 5.0.2 with latest SHARP/autoSHARP

Dear all,

it seems that several people run into trouble with the latest
SHARP/autoSHARP release that seem to be entirely based on problems in
the official CCP4 5.0.2. Therefore some remarks:

  1. the supported version of CCP4 is 5.0.2 WITH ALL PATCHES from the
     official 'problems page':

       http://www.ccp4.ac.uk/problems.html

  2. the official binaries do _NOT_ contain any of the fixes described
     on the offical 'problems page': This means you will have to apply
     these patches (or follow the instructions) and recompile your
     local CCP4 5.0.2 sources by hand.

  3. however, this still leaves you with a problem in the MTZ library
     (that makes DM behave wrongly). So _IF_ you want to use DM within
     the SHARP/autoSHARP suite you will need to get the patched/fixed
     CCP4 version from

       http://www.globalphasing.com/people/vonrhein/ccp4/

     ==> this includes all the patches from the official 'problems
         page' already!!!

  4. no, I can't distribute pre-compiled binaries for this patched
     version (due to licensing etc).
